Hey could anyone confirm if this is the correct location for the ht leads on the m42.

Diagram shows them plugged into spark plug holes with the numbers on the leads corresponding to the numbers on the diagram, with fan showing front of engine.

If this is wrong what is the order from the fan towards the back of the engine

???

Cheers

So in correspondance to my diagram it shud look like:

2 4 3 1

Its just i had them in like this, turned the car over and thr was a bang?? Im i doing somethin wrong?

Lead numbered 1: plugged into coil number 1 and plug hole nearest fan

Lead numbered 2: plugged into coil number 2 and plug hole nearest bulkhead

Lead numbered 3: plugged into coil number 3 and plug hole 2nd furthest from fan

Lead numbered 4: plugges into coil number 4 and plug hole 2nd furthest from bulkhead

is this right then? thanks

the firing order is 1,3,4,2

no 1 is closest to the thermostat( without exception iirc) so FAN end is 1

the leads need to go to the cylinders as per number, so output 1 from the coil goes to the number cylinder, and so on.

1 is cyl 1, 2 is 2, 3 is 3 4 is 4, the firing order is sorted by the ECU , all you need to do is put the leads on the numbered cyls dude. 1 @ front, 4 closest to the bulkhead...
