This is stupid, I locked my sport at the petrol station with the key because I had the sunroof open and I didnt want the alarm going off. Now I didnt realise that the key wont open the doors again
So I had to break in to my car through the sunroof with a coat hanger (still at the petrol station - dodgy looks!). I managed to pull the nob up on the drivers door and managed to drive the car home. But now the central locking is fucked. The passanger door wont open with the key, and is shut. And the alarm wont lock the doors, it just sets the alarm.
Any advice? I figured seeing as the key would lock the doors it would open them again..obviously not

There's a little hinged piece on the back of the drivers key barrel that has seized up.
You need to remove the driver's doorcard, push a long screwdriver in and push the retaining clip for the driver's lock barrel towards the front of the car. The barrel will then pull outwards, and you will be able to see the problem. Should release the deadlocks too.

Jesus.....locks seem to be dropping like flies at the moment! E30's all accross the world are synchronised in the way they fall apart!
Hope you get it sorted, having similar problems at the moment except none of my door will open, all deadlocked

The locking system on the E30 does seem to be a bit dodgy some times
Luckily I managed to swap the barrel over on the drivers door from a different car. It seems that the barrel itself was broken, it would let you lock the car, but it wouldnt budge after that
At least its sorted now...Hopefully!
