Were 15" BBS alloys an option for all cars?

or were they just for the SE and Sport models only?

just wanted to know whether I needed to let the insurance company know of my intentions...

If you'd paid the money, you'd have got the wheels!

Seeing as they are standard BMW fitment, that should be ok.

I'm pretty sure they were an option for all.

If you put em on you could say the car came with them.

Although I guess they could get hold of the original spec sheet :?

Early sports had 14" crosspokes, later ones had 15" as standard.
All other cars they were optional, including the SE, which had 14" crosspokes as standard, you could upgrade for Ԛ£454, cars that didn't have alloys as standard would have cost Ԛ£1074 to upgrade.
BMW also listed 316i/318i as the 15" crosspokes not being available on the cars, but obviously you could probably upgrade if you wanted.

So even a poverty spec 320 which came with steel wheels as standard could have had 15" alloys as an option? (if they were prepared to may the extra)

If thats true then I shouldnt need to inform my insurance company... 8)

Im not saying theyre thieves, but the last time I asked about standard spec alloys the premium shot right up... :x

thanks

Simon... early Sports had 14's...? I never knew that. My '87 phase 1 Sport had 15's, but my '90 320iS only had 14's.

Yup... I know.

Looked like a kitted up 316!

Didn't look that bad actually, and handled pretty well anyway. Never got round to changing them... kept it completely standard.

Just play dumb, you didn't realise, you thought they all came like that.

Giles/Dave, yes, very early sport's had 14" crosspokes.
