Maybe someone can find a link to the previous thread with the pics?

Anyway, fitted a 325i TB (throttle body) to my '89 320i 4door track sh1tter. You'll need a 325i TB, rubber bellows and probably idle control valve. Oh, plus a 325i TB gasket. You'll also need a steel rotary file to grind out the hole in the inlet manifold (forget grinding stones, they clog up with alloy). Basically fit the gasket, mark out the area to be ground away and go for it! You must shove loads of greasy rag into the inlet manifold to catch the swarf tho. It took me about an hour to grind the manifold out and the bottom edge just needs rounding off as there isn't enough to do a full job.

Anyway, it makes a fair difference. The car feels a lot more lively and I've got a Viper 2 chip in the ECU as well (fitted that first). With a 325i saloon 3.7 diff fitted it will pull 55 in second without bother. Before it felt overgeared and gutless, now it's a lot better. On the arse dyno it feels like it's at least 10 bhp more. It'll also do 100 mph on a light throttle opening. With the 4.1 diff refitted it would give a 325i a fright although of course it wouldn't beat it - it's only a 2 litre.

See if you can find the link - it's a mod well worth doing to brighten up the 320i which really, needs help.

Not that I have any reason to care about what can be done with a 320i any more! :D
Surprised yours is still alive to be honest!

Did you change the AFM at the same time for the 2.5 one?

Cheers
