I think he wants to know if a M42 lump will bolt up to his M40 auto box...

No idea, but sounds do able...

excatly the info i need is the if the M42 engine will bolt up to the M40 auto box and any wiring mods or other bits and pices please
sorry for being so vague its for a 91 318i cab
