Just a quick question.. are m3 struts the same as the 51mm m-tech/325i ones? Would 51mm dampers fit?

No, the front wheel bearings are different between M3 and say a 325i. But the rear wheel bearings are the same, so you could in theory fit the M3 rear hubs.

I was of the impression the inserts for an M3 would fit a 325i hub, ie they are interchangeable. They are probably different parts, but I think you can fit struts intended for an M3 to a 325I (obviously the hub is different giving 5 stud etc,I'm just talking inserts here).
Now, I dont know this for fact, my friend with an M3 recently assured me I could fit the same struts as his M3 (Bilstien sports) to my 318is...
Anyone else shed any light?

m3 struts are completely different as the arb droplinks attach to the strut on the m3 stuff and wheel bearings are different etc....
struts may be interchangeable though
