Rally sorry, but new to E30 ownership!
Firstly, I have a light on the dash all the time, it's red and just a round circle (by the handbrake warning light)
Also, the indicator stalk says BC on the end and it is pushinable - what does this do?
Lastly, what does each function and their readings mean on the OBC (i know the obvious ones, but things like Range, Consum etc...)
Thanks
Few things I dont know what they do!

All your answers are in the E30 owner's handbook. Just go through it, as it will be much more simpler to understand rather than the explanation someone may give here.
The BC on the indicator stands for the functions on the OBC - when you push it in once, it changes the display on the OBC, as if you pressed a button on the OBC itself.
Hope that helps...

Hi Sam, welcome to the zone
The warning light sounds like the brake pad wear light, either your pads are worn out or the cable attached to the pad wear sensor (front left wheel) is broken inside.
The stalk with BC on it scrolls through the OBC functions when pushed in.
OBC functions:
HR-DATE- time and date.
SPEED- average speed since last reset.
LIMIT- sounds a warning gong when the programmable speed limit is exceeded.
CONSUM- average fuel consumption since last reset.
RANGE- approximate mileage of fuel left in the tank.
TIMER- press set-res to start/stop stopwatch.
TEMP- outside temperature.
CODE- primitive immobiliser, dont bother with it.
SET-RES- press when in speed/consum mode to reset display and in timer mode starts/stops timer.
The 1000/100/10/1 buttons are used to set the date and time and also set the speed limit function.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Iain T.

thanks for all that!
I think the temp sensor needs replacing then as it always reads 71.c!
Also is there a way of testing the brake pad sensor?
