automatic cant get no motion

went out to drive my bmw 318i auto stuck it in drive no movement tried all other gears still no movement unless i reved it to 4000rpm then it just crawled along checked the fluid empty not even showing on stick will this have damaged the gearbox and i was driving it earlier today with no problem atall is this normal

just been outside all the oil seems to have leaked on the floor out of the pipe that goes on the sump brilliant

you havent covered any miles so it shud be ok when re filled

cheers have to walk 5 miles to the shop tomorrow and then back hope its not raining

when you put in the new fluid you will need to bleed the box so as to fill the torque converter and get rid of air better check you havn't blown the gasket too before you fill it..this'll help..
