17"s on an e30

i've see a cheap set of 17"s that i was gonna buy for my tourer the offsets differnet to an e30 though its 35-38 with a c/bore of 60.0
would i need spacers and spigot rings to fit them?

Not sure about the centre bore size but unless they are wide they will look pants as they are too inset.

You'll need spigot rings for sure, as Im 110% sure that E30 has a centre hub/bore size of 57.1mm, the same as VW's.

Are spigot rings just to aid fitting on the car? if the rims 'hub hole' is to big will it still fit and not wobble?

Exactly that 'dingbat'. If the hub (centre bore) are notthe same, it will casue masses of wobbling at speeds of 40mph, god knows what would happen higher. I also noticedthat the steering becomes very unresponsive.

You need to measure the centre bore of the alloys i.e the bit that fits overt he hub and then find some that will adapt to 57.1MM for the E30

Cheap crappy ones are dangerous, but good quality (H&R, Eibach etc) hubcentric spacers are perfectly safe.

i had inch spacers on my e34 with longer bolts to fit my eighteens the spacers had what looked like a spigot ring already attached they were formed using one piece of metal coat me about £200 all in including the bolts had to be specially made though

or you may want to get a benz 123 bolt once you fit in your spacers. these are a few millimeters longer
