Hey guys, Im changing my c/head soon and just wanted to know if I need to use a torque wrench to tighten it on, cause as far as I am aware the torque bolts stretch after they have reached a certain torque.

It's not as simple as just sticking it on and tightening it up, you have to do up the bolts in the correct sequence. If it's the same head that you took off and you didn't undo the bolts in the correct sequence then I'd get it checked for warping.

To refit the head you'll need to find out the correct sequence of tightening. You need to torque them all up to 30n/m and then you need to tighten them by a 90 degree angle. Then another 90 degrees.

havent taken it off yet I want to do that this weekend, I have the heyns manual at home so I will check what the sequence is, also about that turning it 90 deg, would I need a special wrench or would a normal socket wrench suffice

For the angle's you could use a point in the engine to guage the 90 degrees pretty easily, it's when it's different angles it gets difficult! You can get an angle guage for doing the job though which I used and was great to use.

Yeah I bought an angle guage too, when it comes down to the cylinder head you need to make double sure you do everything properly.
