:(

Fitted new front disc's and pad's ( ATE Powerdisks/Pagids ) and now i cant fit my wheels back on

They are 15" MIMs and the spokes foul the caliper even before the bolts are done up properly

Spacers req or a dab of Mr Angle Grinder?

Cheers

Matt,

If all you have done is fit new discs and pads, then you must have put something back on wrong (assuming the wheels fitted okay before).

You can get this sort of problem with big brake kits, but not just when fitting standard sized stuff.

I'd have a good look over it and see what's gone wrong. I would also leave Mr Angle Grinder at home

I will double check it all, everything looks right though :?

Its got me stumped!!

If they were not MIM's and were looky-likeys, could the offset be wrong?
Not enough to notice with the old worn discs and pads etc...

Would some 3mm shims be ok to use if it all looks ok?

Since new and worn pads can be a difference of about 7mm it is most probable that the wheels are the 'wrong' offset. You cannot just rely on offset it is also important to look at the inner wheel design as they can interfere with the brake system.

I believe the std offset is about 23 (someone else can confirm this). but on my E30 325 I had et18 so as to clear modified suspension struts.

If you have et13 and are proposing using 3mm spacers that is near to et10. With these you may be very close to the rear arches.

Thanks for reply Karl,

I've ordered some 3mm ( System A, FK ones ) spacers, the rears seem fine and clear the brakes and the arches ok, hopefully this will sort the fronts!

Do you know if im ok to use standard bolts and 3mm spacers?

Cheers :D
