i got it , for 20 . bosch type but used

i was a bit pissed with em for that actually, but if i got a brand new for 20 squid, i think there would be a bmw riot

anyway, swapped em over, fuse back in and let the pump prime the rail

and ..absolutely no difference

so i have changed

Ign. cables
Rotor
Dist. cap
FP Reg.

and i still get a dodgy first start up

next is check fuel lines and if i have to, the injectors :(

ello dude, yea.. i phoned em and gave him an earful, but i should have been told if it was a used part. i wasnt though so thats why i was a bit pissed, and i was also a bit concerned as the part is as old as the one i had on before so ?how long before this one goes?

but on the upside, i have one new(ish) bit done on the car so im happy about that

Got the brakes sorted yet?? Put up some pics dude, i need to see Zimmers on Bimmers!

Is your dodgy first start up also a smoky one (black smoke) as mine does this and I'm thinking it's the injectors leaking when left for a long time.

I'm going to run the car and pull the fuel pump relay so it runs out of fuel. Then in the morning, put the relay back in and see how it starts.

Once its been running for about 10 seconds the car starts fine and runs well.

fuse 11 kills fuel pump= 0 pressure if u open fuel filler cap and fpr also

had a little trickle of juice as i plucked the regulator out.

when i turned her over fir the first time with the new reg. it was a new turnover sound, but i put that down to the fuel rail lacking pressure.

on start up, i got the smelly one , with a little whif of smoke that clears away almost instant.

gave it a little rev, to clear the lights on the bottom of the dash, and shes still a bit choppy..

20-30 seconds into the warmup run and the chop is gone, the throttle is responsive and the smell has disapeared

well she is 16 years old
