brake calipers

Just had my front brake calipers chemically cleaned, I've wire brushed
them although they still aren't shiny so probably not for long enough.
So what do I do next, just bang them back on, or put some caliper paint
on. I'm not too bothered by looks. If I paint them do I need to prime them?

Then all I've got to do is buy new seals etc...
