wet carpet!

I have this damn problem whole winter
Every rain my footwell gets wet at front passenger side. Since I didn't have time to search for solution I've done it today. I removed the carpet below the front speaker, and pulled it to left side while my brother was soaking the car from outside. For few moments, nothing happened and then I noticed a small amount of water flowing down to the carpet. I can't correct describe te location so I will mark that place on this photo below( not my car), just for example.

Can anyone help with this? I removed a small pipe under the hood but it looks like that wasn't a problem.

Not 100% sure on this but sure I've read a similar problem on the zone somewhere ,think you'll find the leak just behind the glovebox on the inside and if memory serves me correctly then below the fuse box...don't think its uncommon but if you do a search sure you'll find it somewhere.....sorry not much more help

I found a hole in mine today with a leak,but on the drivers side,If you look up in to the rear top part of the wheelarch(right up in the wing) there is a square section and a nice space to trap sh1t in,scrape it away and hey presto-some welding to do!

Could be the sunroof recess...as I found last year when I came to sell my 320.

Think you'll need to pull away the rear headlining to check, or pour water into the water channels (left and right of sunroof)

if the sunroof drains are clogged, how to clean them?

i had this exact problem in my e30 and the bulkhead had rotted around where the wiring loom passes through the bulkhead and also in the top part of the inner wing to a post panel visible behind the front wheels, i didnt bother fixing it as welding it would've melted the loom and it was a shed anyway

well, I am worried about taht water inside. Because, it smells especially when parked in sun and windows get full of fog while driving in rain. I habe to fix this.
Anyone can explain how to find those drains? Pictures?

No, coolant level is fine, and I don't use heating in car much. Winters are calm here.

I followed the instructions from website, and didn't find any rust under wipers, water flows behind wheels normal. Looks like that isn't a problem.
Any other guess?

I never experienced this personally but I heard someone talking about it. And someone can correct me if i'm WAY OFF but i've heard that gasket 3 in the following link can cause leakage if water is running down the bulk head. Apparently it's a B*****D to sort but might be worth looking at.

Like I said, I may get shot down in flames about being wrong but though it was worth a mention.

I had probs under the fuse box but the best way to find out is carpet and glove box out and start looking for corrosion.

I found I had this problem on my 316 just after I'd washed it. On mine it was a simple case of the roof drain channels had blocked up with the finest welsh gloop you can imagine, Best way I could find to get shot of it, take it to a garage and blast the channels with a jetwash to dislodge the shite
