Does anyone have the part number for the Mk1 Golf GTi brake servo. and are you getting them out of a right hand drive or a left hand drive car?

I rang up VW and they couldnt help me unless i had the part number.

Oh and its for an m52 into e30 engine conversion

thanks

I have had a mk1 Golf GTI and a mk2 Scirocco Scala with GTI engine, they both used the same linkage from brake pedal across bulkhead to servo (right-hand drive).

Just had a look at the servo on the Scirocco, and there is a sticker with these numbers on it

Ate 3.6142-7205.4
163 0 A4F
VW/AUDI 172 612 105 J
The numbers after the VW/AUDI I think are the part number of the servo.
Hope this helps.

thanks heaps...

the mk2 one, would that be the one where you have to put the spacer bolt in to mount up to the e30 brake linkage? or is it also a straight bolt up liek the Mk1?

thanks again

I have no idea about the E30 engine conversion, but just that the mk1 Golf GTI and mk2 Scirocco brakes are the same and would have thought the servos' are the same. The mk2 Scirocco is based on the mk1 Scirocco which has the same floorpan/chassis as mk1 Golf. All the suspension and brakes are the same between all 3 cars ( the GTI/Injection versions) so fingers-crossed the servo should be as well.

The Mk2 1.3 servo needs a spacer between the end of the E30 M/C and the push rod in the servo.

The Mk1 Gti servo does not need this spacer to work with the E30 M/C, but it does need the 'fork' drilling out to connect to the pedal linkage, because the pin used in the E30 linkage is bigger than the VW one - drilling it out takes about 5 seconds.

Sorry, cant help with the part numbers, the sticker on my Mk1 Gti servo wasnt in one piece.
