Hi guys,
Need the usual help from the font of all knowledge - central locking this time...
Either by remote (alarm) or key in door (including boot lock) the control module just 'buzzes' and even repeatedly lifting and lowering the drivers door pin no longer actuates the central locking.
Could this be door solenoid related, relay under the dash? :mad:
Appreciate guidance.

Would think you have a poor connection in the 12V+ feed to the locking ECU, reducing the voltage to the lock solenoids.
Probable cause is one or other of the pins connected to the red/black wires in the drivers door pillar plug and socket.
Permanent cure - Remove loudspeaker from drivers footwell and find the two red/black wires going to the door socket. Cut them both from the socket, and join them together.

yepp i agree with all that brian just said mine was doing this had to open door and whack the plug to make things work then chopped and rejoined the wires and presto all works sweet window and locks Daz

I've just been trying to chop the red/black wires and join them together, I have one problem however. I seem to have three red/black wires going into the drivers door socket.

One of them is seperate to the main loom that enters the socket, when I wiggle this wire the control unit clicks on and off. I therefore assume this is one of the wires I should cut, but which is the other?

I also can't seem to get the socket to disconnect, any tips?

Just been to have a look at a loom from a late 325SE - should have as many wires in it as any E30.
Only two red/black wires going to that socket. Only other wire with red as the main colour is red/brown.
The two red/black wires you want are the one on its own on the left hand side, looking into the socket from the door side, and the one that is closest to it in the main bunch.
Removing the door plug requires a fairly hard pull for one in good condition, but your's with corroded pins will be harder still.
Reassemble with plenty of silicon grease.

:D Just a few lines of thanks to you Brian - your advice did the trick, fully operational central locking, and as for the indentification of the red n black - again easy enough once the multi plug was removed from the socket (yes it took some force in order to disengage the plug from holder. & yes corroded pins galore.)

Fiddly job but easy enough to do given your advice.

Stick plenty of silicon grease in the door sockets ( and every other plug and socket on the car,outside of the passenger compartment).
Best place to buy it is from a plumber's merchant. It's used to lubricate the rubber O rings on soil and underground waste pipe fittings.
Expensive stuff, but well worth it.

Right guys, my mo*herf*cking central locking won't work at all now :x
It was workig but playing up about once a week. And to add insult to injury the passenger door is now dead locked, fcuk!!!
I have checked the red/black wire and someone has already soldered a jumper through the door/wing connector.
I have checked the c/locking extremley cool unit and it all seems in order, no joints unsoldered.
I am at my wits end I really need to fix it, cos all that is stopping it being nicked is a cruck lock and the passenger door is locked, must park with the passenger doos against the pavement :(
