trouble removing my engine, bluddy g.box

i have got one more gear box, torx bolt to undo and its the one right on top of the gear box. i have undone the g.box mounts and the engine mounts, to lower the box down to able me to fit a rachet on top of the box but everything is real tight it took me about 3 hours yesterday to remove the top side three bolts. has anyone got any tips or anybody know of any special tool or way to un do this bolt. cheers guys

Alternatively, go to Halfords and buy a torx spanner, you can just about slip it over the bolt and then I find a jack handle fits nicely over the spanner and you can undo it fron the top, makes life much easier!

the bulk head is realy close to the inlet manifold and i cant fit a spanner down there.
i have putextension bars onto the socket but i havent got enough room to turn the rachet due to the tunnel being that little bit too cloese to the box. im going to assess it tonight and give it another go, i was a bit miffed off last time as it was cold wet and i was outdoors in the dark with a torch. so with a bit of luck weather permitting i should have it off tonight. cheers anyway adam.

just undo thr prop (3 bolts), the prop centre bush (2bolts) to allow the prop to drop, the gearlever rear mount (1 bolt) and the slave cylinder(2bolts) and pull the lot out. i've struggled with this before and found this to be a loads easier way to get it out/in.

this should be a piece of p1ss! try a "knuckle" socket bent back towards the front of the engine bay and a ratchet! comes off easy! (i got mine out with a halfrauds torx spanner as adam mentioned. no probs for me.

Read somewhere once IIRC, that if these bolts have been fitted without the thin steel washers in place at some time in the car's previous life, then they become VERY hard to undo.
