I believe any E30 screen (not M3) will fit - they are rubber sealed not bonded.passatsport wrote:i have a 318 h plate cabby, that needs a roof and windscreen, will a normal e30 screen fit or is the cabby a diffarent shape? is it bonded or rubber sealed?
My understanding of it is that any screen will physically fit, but that there are differences between saloon screens and cab screens:
An original cab screen will have a factory tint at the top, the glass will be slightly thicker than standard, and, of course, the cab screen will have the mirror attached to it
Just what I've heard, mind...

Ah well, seems I'm a master of misinformation then!
Like I said, these are just things I've heard on the forum - I was breaking my convertible at the time so it stuck in my head that cab screens were different. I stand corrected!

according to oem ( and i had heard this earlier)cab screens only go on cabs and it is the same screen as an m3 cab...obviously put in differently
-my cab came with a green tint (an option according to the spec)on top but they also came clear and all green

Cat B write off 10 years ago (so shouldn't have been on the road in the first place!)
Ultra bad quality pale yellow respray
Every knob/switch/door handle surround/dials/handbrake/steering wheel etc - yellow
Vandalised back window.
It's in a better place now... and for a car that cost £400, it made £1200 in bits on ebay

There's a place in Bonnybridge, reasonable distance for you. Last time I was there, they had about a dozen E30s in:passatsport wrote:the screen at the mo has green tint. but as i need a roof and a screen before i even look at servicine brakes etc i think a scrappy will be needed, any good breakers in scotland
