It should all fit fine. I'm sure there's a few guys here that's done it.
Datourer, I thought it was a 4-2 TYP?

I've had a quick look here, and it shows the 3-3 TYP as for a 316i/318i, but the engine code says M10
318i/318iKat is on there on it's own.
318i/318iKat is on there on it's own.

hi i fitted a obc to my 318 m40 cab no problems and was vert straight forward...my only problem is the part that works the alarm code part of the loom(one of 2 plugs that connects to the main junction box)all was well untill i switched off the engine and it kept running even with the key out,i have disconnected that part .......i am running a 2.5 ltr coding plug it works fine but the readings are not accurate...im waiting to get the right one or swap with someone who needs a coding plug for a 2.5 ...........................so gents have we sorted out which is the right coding plug for a 318/m40 engine so we know which one to get

Datourer, I assume you found the coding plug list from the above link, the link doesn't take you straight to the list, it's in DIY somewhere.

Hi
Thanks every one. I notice the correct coding plug for the M40 unit is 4.2. as Simon suggested. I hope I can get one from a BMW dealer.

Hi Gazza
Well done. Coopere BMW could not help me with the original number. Is the part number correct or is it a superseeded number, as I would like to order one.
