There's another thread going at the moment which has stuff relevent to your question.
Racks are different, but would appear to be interchangeable with changes to the plumbing.

Depends if the 318i already has PAS i imagine, if it hasnt then you would need to get a pump, bracket(s) and belt(s). Not 100% on the 4 cylinders but thats what you would need if you were converting a manual to PAS on a 6 cylinder. Also i think there maybe a different pully to run the pump, im sure someone else will know for sure though.
