Been looking at the article on LSDs in this months PPC magazine.
The exploded diagram of the KAM type diff looks like a piece of piss to make which got me thinking I might have a go. I should be able to rob the bevel gears from the existing one and make up a new body for the crown wheel to bolt to. Then there's sourcing some suitable clutches, I reckon something designed to run in oil like some motorbike clutches might be suitable.
It's quite simple in operation with the gears on the axles having a clutch pack behind them attached to the body of the diff so that they resist turning relative to each other.
Now the standard LSD in E30s has some kind of cam arrangement to affect the characteristics of the diff.
Anybody know how different the first type of diff I (badly) described would be to drive?
Your thoughts appreciated, both for and against!

The mid sized case ZF LSD units will take loads of torque and are easily modded for more efficient performance.
