Complete electrical system,

i have a number if different small annoying faults to deal with, i also want to pull out the old alarm and fit a new one.

so having the drawings will be easier than running between the house and garage every 10 minutes to ask questions on the zone :)

cheers

Those are the Haynes diagrams , Smithy. Slightly better than nothing - but not a lot!!
Go to : www.autolib.diakom.ru/CARS2 , BMW, third link down, Mitchel on demand, then use the drop down boxes.
US model diagrams, but mostly correct.

I'm surprised no-one has cross-referenced to http://www.soulblighters.com/e30tech where there's been a stockpile of the BMW North America Inc publication: "BMW 3 Series Electrical Trouble Shooting Manual".

Each of these manuals is a pdf of around 170 pages and has all the wiring diagrams and photos of all major electrical components and their installation and trouble shooting procedures. Each pdf is in the range 15 to 25 MB so NOT emailable. Obviously it is all for US spec cars, but it doesn't take a genius to unscramble that…

All in all there's 322MB of data on 20 pdfs. This site has almost every year every model. Each of the filenames is in the format: "e30_86.pdf" etc where that file covers all the models (except M, Convertible and iX) for 1986 etc. The M series follows a slightly different filename format, namely: "e30m3_90.pdf" etc the convertible is “e30co_90.pdfâ€a etc. Direct links are "http://www.soulblighters.com/e30tech/e30_88.pdf" etc

Having said all this I have just tried to visit soulblighters and it's not working at the moment. However putting the filenames I have described above into Google yields many cross references and I haven't bothered to follow them all. Possibly you can track down a copy on some other site.

However against the day when that soulblighters site fell over I did download all of the 322MB and if people here don't have access to this data, anyone who administers the Zone can ask me for a CD copy to make available for download more widely I'd be happy to post it. As I said, not even individual single files are small enough to email so please don't ask me.

Hope that's helpful if not of immediate help to oly.

Andrew
