Hi guys. I just bought an '89 325i sport yesterday. Its supposed to have a chip and a big bore throttle body. Anyway the problem is the smell of petrol coming into the cabin when the car is pushed on. When you floor it in any gear there is an extremely strong petrol smell, not burnt just fresh petrol. Im aware of problems with the filler neck going to the tank and this is possible as when i was drifting yesterday i could see the petrol trail on the wet tar. Is there any way of getting around the engine checked and get this cured??? Is it possible tuning would cure this along with some fibre glass around the filler neck or what???? Suggestions greatly appreciated folks!
