Is there anything that could prevent me from slotting this engine infront of a getrag 5spd box?

Gday,

no, but a 525E engine is a 2.7 but the E means economy... BM boffins actaully increased the size of the engine to increase fuel performance, but then engine whilst torquey is pig slow.... however it would be useful to dismantle and build up to a real 2.7 using 325 pistons, block and head and the crank/con rods from the E engine, plus a bit of machineing and change the ECU chip

but if you must then you will need the spigot bearing which should be added to the spigot/output shaft of the 525E engine to allow it to accept the clutch, available from dealers. (and i belive some washing machines!!)
