Apart from a million other things never mentioned in this 'simple' conversion my current main concern is power steering.

There's 2 hoses from the resevoir - 1 to the pump and 1 to the rack. obviously the 6cyl engine is 'longer' and my 4cyl hoses cant reach the mounting point for the PAS pump. Not only is the steering rack different but so is the pump...

the hose from the resevoir to the rack - is the connection on the rack in the same place on both racks? (i dont have ETK to check!) and if its the same does anyone know if i got 2 hoses from a scrappy that i could use my existing pump?

Lakeside... :(

P.S just been down the scrappy removing a wiring loom, only cost 7 quid but the stress of getting it out was painful!

Both pumps are 110 lbs and can be used but on the m40 one the hose attachments are 90degrees out and can't be mounted.
I recently changed an old rack (M20) for a new (M40) and used the old pump and smaller hose from the reservoir to the pump.
The larger hose from the pump to rack runs at an odd angle but havent had any trouble so far and work just the same.
Works for me, just got to cancell the add for the steering rack now.

Anyone think of a reason why 4 pots and 6 pots use different power racks?
Mountings are the same and suspension geometry is the same, so why the difference?

Thanks for the info guys and Rog for takin the snap of his rack :D

So I need the 6cyl pump and the hose from resevoir to the pump, or just the hose that runs from the resevoir to the pump?
