Hi

I'm thinking of fitting one of those 'windscreen aerials' -basically a wire that goes round the windscreen rubber... I will fill in the rusty old aerial hole when I'm done.

Has anyone here done this? and is the reception any good?

Thanks

I've used the aerial amplifier from an E36 and run a loop of wire under the parcel shelf, reception is good.

Have a peek at this http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... ght=aerial

Liam, this unit is inside the car underneath the left hand (pass side) C-post cover.

Ideally you want to take a pair of side cutters to cut the power and screw-on aerial plugs off.

If you look at mine in the pic above, the +12v feed from the radio goes to the bottom white wire with maroon connector. The aerial coax is bottom right.

There needs to be 1 loop of wire to each of the top right connectors, one loop for FM and another loop for AM reception.

The rest are for the heated screen which you won't be using.

Cheers,

Cheers Ian.

So the White wire i can just connect to the original power aerial wiring?
Also when you say loop,i just use one piece of wire for AM looped round on itself and the same for the FM?

Earths itself when bolted inside the boot?
