I've got a set of the ARBs on order, just wondering if its worth replacing or upgrading the drop links while I'm at it? Not sure I can really afford it at the moment, but if I'm going to do something, I want to do it right...

you may as well really. i asked the same question a when fitting my arb's and was told to change the drop links at the same time. theyre not particuarly expensive.
youll probably need new mounting brackets too. mine were pretty rusty

Change the drop links. you have to remove them anyway to fit onto the new bars, so nike! only max 20 quid from gsf for both.. (I think there like 8 quid +vat.. or something silly like that)

I've just done mine and the easiest way I found is to get an axle stand under the mount bracket and lower the car onto it with the ends disconnected. (wd40 the top of the rubbers. this will make them rotate easier) Put the bolt (original or longer) into the rear of the bracket saddle and then the jack stand will stop it from falling out. If you put the front of the brackets in first ( they can only fit one way) then put the saddle of the stand under the front most part of the saddle, so it will rotate into the right position, then when you lower the car, pull the bar as far forward as you can to keep the bracket in the hole.

When the car lowers, it SHOULD rotate the bracket up into position. you may need a longer bolt and washers, I did, but I'm going to change it once it settles abit more. Use a long screwdriver (Flat) or similar to wedge in between the stand and the bracket when the car is at its lowest and try to jimmy the bracket/bolt towards the hole.

repeat for the other side.

Wish I took pics of when I did mine!!

Hope this helps!
