Mine is leaking. I havent had a good look yet but I presume its from where the filler neck joins as this is where they all seem to go.
Would it be possible to clean this down and repair with fibre glass and then put some sealant around it all?
Possible to patch fuel tank?

i wouldnt see nothing wrong with doing that, after all petrol isnt corrosive so it wont dissolve the fibre glass away, and make sure your generous with the sealant, you might be able to find a patch kit at halfrauds or somewhere similar

My pipe has been patched with fibreglass but the petrol just seems to find another way out

I had a very similar problem a few weeks back, i ended up replacing it with a brand new tank and all the hoses.
It wasn't till i'd bought the new one back, took everything apart, and prep'd the new 1, that i noticed water(fuel) marks appeared to be coming from the pump and sender unit area on the top,
Its located under the rear seats on the drivers side. its well worth lifting up the bottom part of the rear seats, undoing the 4 screws on the oval shaped black panel and checking around for stains (liquid) on the tank, this is nearly the highest point on the tank so if there are any marks there- this is most probably the cause of a dodgy rubber seal which seals the pump/sender unit onto the tank. check both sides as some tanks have 2 senders therefore 2 possible seals on top which could be leaking.
To remove them i used a small flat tool (file) to sit across the unit between the notches and turned it anti-clockwise, note- remove the 4 nuts and sender part first.
i hope my essay helps somebody!! my 2 index fingers are now blistered.

Adam.. Are you home or still in brum?
Brown brothers or Givran autoparts boucher rd should have it..
If not Teroson terostat 9220 black sealer mixed with some panel wipe into a thick liquid and fiberglass matting this will give a fuel resistent semi flexible repair..
I could sort it for you if your here..
