when you change an engine or will it work with the original ecu..

i have heard different stories and just wanna check, cheers in advance

It depends what engines you are swapping ?

I think you can get away with just a chip change if you are swapping from a 2.0l M20 to a 2.5l ?

Thats assuming your using the same version/age of Motronic ECU.

it would be another 325 lump, same as whats in there....the ecu is there as well, so no huge dramas....

Same one will be fine mate!

Bear in mind it will lose it's memory after being unplugged for a while when you're changing the engine so might run a bid lumpy for a while. Just take for a nice drive so it can relearn then settings and you'll be fine.
