Anyone know if you can get ECU fault codes out of a 93 vanos M50 engine?
The engine check light has come on a couple of times on my M50 engined touring after a few miles, (stays on untill you reset by disconnecting battery), and I would like to find out why.

Used the E34 loom. Extended the ECU end by about 300mm, so that I could fit the ECU in the E30 positon, with the three relays on the underside of the steering column support bracket.
Was a lot of work, and when I was do it again, I will mount them in a waterproof box on the battery tray.
Battery is going to be evicted to the boot anyway. (Have the bits from an E30 325SE), as I want the battery tray to mount bits for a LPG conversion, which will be fitted after a few months testing on the road.

Re my original post on this thread - The small breather hose from the cam cover to the air inlet hose was disconnected when I started fitting the E34 M30 air filter box, and I forgot to reconnect it.
No one has replied how to get the fault codes though. The USA method doesn't work.
