big probs!!!! help!!!!

got probs with my E30 316i 1989. :evil:
its missing but i done everything i know to fix it and im really confused coz it aint fixed. ive changes throttle swithch, plugs, leads, head gasket, had a compression test and its fine so it aint the rings. the distributor cap looks fine and there is no bad smoke coming from the back. i really dont know what to do next its costing me a fortune in parts and it aint fixed. can anyone help?????

Take off the dizzy cap and give it a thorough clean with carb cleaner, also take off the rotor arm and inspect that too.

If it all appears to be ok then clean up the posts inside the cap and the edge of the rotor arm with emery paper.

If there are cracks or traces of carbon on either then the spark will track across the surface and give missfires.

Looks like you've covered most things :?

Also are the plug leads definately in the right order ?, It does happen !.

If this doesn't sort it then maybe it's a duff coil or ignition module.
