My electric windows in my touring (only has electrics on front windows) seem to have a mind of their own.
The other week it blew the fuse while I was closing the window and sunroof at the same time so I replaced it. It blew again a few days later so I replaced it again.
Usually the power windows on the E30 work without the ignition turned on as long as one of the front doors is open. Since the fuse blowing incident this does not happen and the windows only work with the ignition on :( .

Is this a common fault and if so is there an easy fix?
Your advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

The power for the windows and roof only comes via fuse 17 when the ignition is on. Comes from fuse 28 when the doors are open.

Thanks Brian,

They work fine now - also explains why my cigarette lighter wasn't working.

Cheers,
Mike
