E30 alloy wheel spacers.

Hi

Just bought new alloys for E30 318i baur cabriolet. They seem to be 40 off set, thought they were 18. Have put 5mm spacers on the front. The tyre is very very close to the suspension but does not appear to be rubbing it. Drives ok but do you think I am creating trouble for the future. Been told i need 15mm hub centric spacers. Does anyone have any ideas or feedback?

If you have a 40mm offset, then 15mm spacers sound about right. This does depend slighlty on the width of the wheel though. As long as you have 7 or 7.5" rims, then it will be correct. You ideally need to end up with an offset around 25mm.

You do indeed need to get some 15mm Hubcentric spacers. I have 15mm H&R spacers on my car, and they have been perfect. No vibrations or any other problems. I believe Eibach and a few other companies supply them a bit cheaper than H&R, so it's worth shopping around.

im gettin borbet a 9jx16 ofset is 15 on my sport, and gonna use 10mm hubcentric spacers from FK, rear and front, gettin them this week

i had borbet a 7.5 and 5mm spcers on front just to clear the calipers, rears are were fine, no suspension rub etc , but they werent hubcentric and caused vibration at high speeds i didnt know that i required hub centric ones

oh yeh if you increase to 15mm i will advise you to use longer bolts.

try the US, turnermotorsport they sell H&R spacers, plus advantage to you on the currency side .
