Can you bore out a normal 325 throttle body and fit a 535 butterfly into it...?

Got both, just wondered if that was possible...

I got a machine shop to machine out my throttle body to accept a e32 3.0 or 3.5 (not sure which, came from scrapyard) butterfly. I had to file out the slot in the shaft to accept it and its slightly thinner but it worked well. Im not sure if its the same size as a e34 one tho :?

Hi Giles, Yes you can bore the standard 325 throttle body out, i did mine this way and used a butterfly from a 535, just a matter of stripping the body down, shafts and springs etc, and remembering where it all goes afterwards but nice and cheap and well worth it, Dave. http://reg.imageshack.us/v_images.phpImageImageImage

Yeah, they're available off the zone. Either a straight buy, or an exchange system...

Just that I've got both lying around and thought about just messing around with them myself... like I've got nothing else better to do!
