Not really tech help needed but more an explanation...changed alternator as per previous post...all going well...lights don't dim, dash lights now light up...strange flashing ignition/brake warning/battery light all gone..I understand why thats all happened...but why has my mpg/torque/acceleration all improved also...defo not complaining and if its a gift from the car gods I'm happy to accept...but is there an explanation??? :?
Cheers

a failing alternator will mean less current is being passed to the injectors/sparks etc so your car should now be sparking at full power etc.

voltage is always overlooked by people

Just as well - because you are - totally!
The old alternator would have been absorbing much less power than the new one, as the old one wasn't doing any work.
Improvement, if real, will be down to better sparks and a happier ECU.
