Ive got a new ICV on the way, but just incase that isnt whats causing my idle problems, the only other thing i can think of that would cause it would be an air leak somtimes as that seems to explain a lot. Thing is, i cant see off hand any pipes/hoses that are dodgy, is it worth just replacing the lot? If so is there a certain set of hoses that i need to replace that would most likly be causing the problem? ie all the inlet hoses n stuff.

Cheers guys (btw its an m40 1.8i)

if the hoses look ok, i would have a good check for air lead from inlet manifold.

Sam,

Take of the rubber air intake pipe from the airflow meter to the throttle body and give it a bend ( :? ) to see if there are any splits in there.

I've just ordered one from Bmw, which I'm hoping will cure my dodgy idle, and hesitation problem. (It did when it was taped up!)

What did Bmw ask for the hose?

I'm curious as mine seems to have a minor issue with the idle aswell!

surprisingly good!

cheers

Dont suppose u know of any other possible causes & remedies for a fluctuating idle? I'm about to upgrade all the plugs & HT leads, also a new air induction kit which, so I'm told, may help a little.
