my clutch generally works fine, biting point normal but if i've had my foot down on it for a long time, the biting point seems to be right at the bottom of travel and snatchy, any ideas appreciated. 318i touring by the way

Sounds like the clutch cylinder, mines the same. They are not alot of money from euros/gsf and from what I understand, its an easy job.

If the clutch fluid level is dropping, it's the slave cylinder(probably). If the fluid level is not dropping, it's the master.
Either way, I recommend you change both at the same time.
