The car is a 91' 325i cab....When I open either door the interior light, and the door chime do not respond. If that isn't strange enough, the car will chime at me in the middle of driving for no reason. Has anyone had this problem in the past? It isn't a fuse, as the chime will signal periodically, and the interior light works.... it just doesn't respond to the door triggers.
Any advice would be appreciated!!
Thanks!!
Mike

Hi Titan
You say it works but not when you open the door. the light switch has 3 settings, "on", "off" and "door". My one works but on "door" but not on the "on" position, reason is the plastic clip in the light switch broke, to fix my light i will need to get a new light cover, you might have the same issue. (hope this makes sense)When I open either door the interior light, and the door chime do not respond
Do you have a 13 button OBC installed?, if so the computer has a sort of speed warning, on the comuter you can set a speed limit and once you pass that it will chime at you, check what speed you doing when it chimes, then slow down and acclerate back to and past that speed, if it chimes again, they at least you know why it chimes. OR it could be linked to the outside temp sensor, if the sensor is faulty or loose it will cause the computer to get big drops in reading. The computer chimes everytime it gets a big drop or gain in exterior temp.the car will chime at me in the middle of driving for no reason

Thanks guys!! The car does have an obc..... which doesn't apear to be in working order. knowing that the chime runs through the obc, I am wondering if this may be the problem. Th random chime isn't during high speeds or low temps, so I don't think this is the answer.... but i appreciate the thought.
