Hi guys. I had my car on the hoist today and was wondering about the subframe bushes. With a screwdriver or tyre lever i can move the bush a long way if i put it in the gap and lever it upwards.
im assuming this is too much and was wondering if im checking em right and how easy it is to replace em. looks like the whole subframe and diff hae to come out which is not so bad but a bit of work. i also assume they are a press fit so ill hafto get the whole thing over to the press.
anyway am i right? drop a little knowledge on me from someone who has done them please thanks.
oh the reason i suspect them is beacause i get a large amount of axle hop if i drop the clutch in the wet and it sends a nasty vibration throught the car.

I plan to do my beam bushes soon too.
I put in the word 'bush' in the search yesterday and found loads of useful threads about this job. Worth doing that search and having a good read!

just read a bit bout the general methods of doing these. are these different to other bushes or do you guys heat all of them? i have been taught never to heat suspension components and i dont use grease when fitting bushes. are these different to say front caster bar bushes or would u guys use the same process?
thanks
thanks

Special tool I use consists of a threaded rod, a couple of nuts and some large washers.
