grp N h&r coilover problems...

ive bought some 2nd hand setup of the above in 5 stud m3 format for my project, and i have a problem with the rear springs which on this setup are not height adjustable...

the rear spring coils are of the same diameter from top to bottom as opposed to becoming smaller at the top and bottom so as to retain the spring on its rubber 'perches'... so surely the spring would pop out.. i called the guy i got em form and he said that they were just fitted like that on his car...

so can anyone let me know what the deal is with these... and does anyone know an h&r dealer in the UK as it is possible an appropiate base and top plate may be missing..... so then i can order some new plates if there is such a thing....

the other prob is they are about 4 yrs old and from a sport evo imported from germany... this just adds to the confusion over the rear spring situation,,,

My FK rear set-up (which Scott now has) had a base plate on which was the adjustable centre thread, making them adjustable, but there was no top plate.

I know they aren't H&R, but they may work in a similar way.

I think what Karan is saying is the rears are not pigtailed where they locate on the body and trailing arms , right ?

Yeah, because they need the adjustable plates. If they're coilovers, surely the rears would need to adjust, you can't have a fixed rear, while having the coilovers on the front... what's the point?

yeh it is as ant said... however i have a feeling the seller has told me fibs.... anyone know a helpful h&r uk dealer so i can try and get the extra bits....

i had coilovers on the escort, but they where bolted top and bottom, not seen coilovers for the e30, karan, but i'm sure you'll sort it mate.
