Just to be on the safe side I disconnected the battery whilst I dismantled the centre console, as I didn't know what wires would lie beneath and what goodies previous owners would have left there.

I reconnected the battery and made sure the terminals were clean and that the connection nuts were nice and tight, but since I disconnected the battery the idle speed is all over the place. My car normally sits at a rock steady 750rpm, now it ranges from 500 to 1000rpm and often just dies because the revs drop so low.

Has anybody any idea on what may have caused this? Cheers for any help :)

I'm sure I've read something about poor running for an hour or so after the battery has been disconnected. Cue Brian?
