Knoking on 320i engine

last night, i bought a F reg 320i, its got a full genuine Mtec kit, 17 inch alloys, its totall MINT inside and out, and got full service history, picked it up for 310 quid which was a bargain, the problem with it is the engine is making a knoking sound, mostly at 1st and second gear but if its revved hard it will make the sound, most probably the engine is knakered, will a 325i lump go straight in with the same gearbox and diff, any help is appeciated, i will post some pics of the car soon, cheers!!

Yep will bolt straight in dude.

You'll need a 325 Airflow meter and ECU to get it spot on but its all easily obtained and fitted.

Clutch will be OK for a while but once/if it fails fit a 325 unit M8

thanks for the help ant, what do you think the knoking noise is, can it be fixed or is the engine gone?
