hello,i actually have a 325i bmw, i have a problem with it the problem being, when its cold it doesnt like starting, its lumpy and stays like it until warm.i have changed the fuel regulator, plugs and cap rotar arm none of which have helped, cleaned out the throttle body and had the co levels set up properly, any ideas?
i have also had trouble with the fuel gauge, its not reading acuratley,i have changed the gauge itself and the senders, checked feeds to the senders, one of which is an earth and one is a dim live when the ignition is off.when i turn it on i still have the earth but the dim live is dead,is the dim live supposed to be an earth?hope thats better please help, dave.

I'm no linguist. Only understand English, and perhaps a little French.

Engine problem sounds like a classic case of "blue temp sender" syndrome.
On the top of the water outlet elbow (top front of engine) there are two sensors, one with a brown socket, and one with a blue. The blue one tells the engine ECU if the car is cold or at running temp.
I think yours is telling the ECU that the car is hot when it's actually cold.
Can be a bit difficult to get a tool on to unscrew it, but other than that, an easy job. IIRC, the tool kit spark plug spanner will fit it.
You've lost me a bit with the fuel gauge. What's "dim live"?, and how many level senders do you have?

I think I'd check that the throttle position switch is working properly, check all the gaskets on the inlet side (spray easystart or similar near the gaskets on a closed throttle. Any leak will draw in gas and the engine will rev), and then suspect a leaking injector.
Is any plug a different colour from the rest?
Forgotten one common trouble spot - There's a round plug and socket fixed to the metalwork under the inlet manifold. Check the connectors in this are all bright and shiny.
