A bit of dirt or blocking something or a sticking valve in the pump or rack that has just freed itself ???

where is the horn ring and if that is the case why did it stop completly when the steering went back to normal. it felt more like a ball joint slipping into place more than a belt slipping , is this possible .

a dodgy pas pump will make a grating noise that will increase in pitch with engine revs...

Is there any way one can repair a dodgy pump? I've heard you can strip the pump and clean it, but does this work?

it must be possible but to be honest not really worth it. they're so cheap from a breaker.
