temp goes up to 3/4 on the gauge but heaters blow cold, everynow and again they will blow hot and the temp will drop but then blow cold again and temp rises,
does this sound like a thermostat issue? Top hose is warm so i am guesssing stat is only opening a little bit? heaters seem to get warm as i slow down and am off the power, once i accelerate (gently of course) they go cold again and the temp goes up, there is an electric fan fitted instead of the standard fan which was switched on at the time, no coolant loss and problem started approx 1000 miles after coolant replacement due to split pipe. oil pressure light is coming on at low revs too. So i guess i am looking at a new head gasket too but i need to get to work for another 4 days yet! so looking at another 250 miles before i can do anything.
any suggestions before i take a stick to it in a basil fawlty styleee?
I have aquired another m10 engine in good condition so i can swap the engine next week if need be but i need to get this week out of the way first!
any thoughts greatly appreciated
