Just fitted my OBC today, just wondering how to set the time and get all the functions working, at the moment all thats coming up on the screen is _ _ _ _ (and then the abreviation for which ever function i select).

However the temp and range functions do show readings so they seem to be ok.

Cheers

Yep, a bit stupid really, the 'lesser' 6 button is adjustable, you can change between centigrade/farenheit and 12/24hr clock, but yet the more 'upmarket' 13 button isn't adjustable!

I'm sticking with my 6 button! :D

My OBC reads time in "heu" (German heure I guiess) instead of hrs but reads temp in deg C. Consumption is in l/100km - this is on a South African model 325i.

I want to swap this to a UK car, is there any hope of me getting it to read in hrs and mpg?

You can have US units, UK units (MPG, MPH and degrees farenheit) or
European units (l/100km, km/hr and degrees celsius), but you can't mix them.
Only temp that matters on the OBC is freezing point, which is 32 degrees in farenheit. Farenheit scale has the advantage of almost twice the resolution of Celsius, as two farenheit degrees are almost one centigrade degree.

So I'm stuck with a European version until I can get my hands on a UK one - mind you being of the metric generation deg C means far more to me!

no, you can toggle through the three settings. Look at the text beside the steering wheel picture in Simon's instructions.

Brian,

got the instruction book in my car and tried that a couple of times but I still can't get the thing to change - are you sure they're all the same?

Not absolutely sure, no, but since the UK one will adjust to suit US and european markets as well as UK, then I can see no reason why there should be a different one made by BMW.
