Oil light on is not normally good news, but try a new switch before you panic too much.

Just keep the oil pressure switch and fit a new engine to it.

It can be saved if you throw enough time and money at it, but oil pressure light on, overheating, smoking, bad running......
I haven't seen it, so I can't say from here, but sometimes you've just got to know when to give up!

that is a very good point Brian, but i thought it would be something simple such as oil not flowing properly due to the bad running? and once the engine is flushed with engine flush together with the cooling system it should solve problem!! Ive had the head off and inspected it thoroughly, No signs of head gasket failure or cracks on head..???

You won't see them on the rough cast metal - 0nly as a faint grey line across a cam journal.

They like to hide underneath the cam, there's no way you'll spot them in a fully built head.

Can't type as quick, clearly. Plus I was distracted. And the cat ate my keyboard.
