who ever fitted my electric m3 mirrors should be twatted on the head a bit harsh...
the switch on the door controls the passenger one, the motors all work, but its backwards. left is right up is down etc. so although its annoying, its livable..
when you flick the witch to the right and try to move it the drivers mirror just clicks. i shake my head from side to side in dis-belief and sigh...
any ideas on this one?
leccy mirrors - any ideas before i go and do mine.

Assuming the mirrors are the same inside as any other BMW mirror, remove the glass, then the four screws that hold the motor assembly in place.
At the back of the assembly there are four wires that plug in individualy. The colour of each wire is marked on the assembly, so check these are correct.
Thought just occured to me, that it might be possible to rotate the mechanism in the housing if the four screws are evenly spaced.
If this isn't possible, then you should be able to get things to work properly by changing the wires around.
Driver's mirror - The mirrors use the same motor for up/down and left/right, with an electric clutch mechanism that switches between the two. The click you hear is the clutch. The motor isn't running at all.
This fault is common with the passenger mirror because one of the motor wires is permanently ignition live, which encourages corrosion in the two door plug and sockets it goes through. Driver's door mirror doesn't go through any door pillar plugs though between switch and mirror, so that isn't your problem.
Black and blue are the motor connections at the mirror, with black being the 12V live when the switch is not being operated.
Brown and white are the clutch, with brown being earth.
Switch itself isn't above suspicion.
