Hi,

I need to replace my front callipers, as my car has solid discs and I want to replace them with vented discs.

How easy is it to replace the callipers? Is there a write up on it anywhere? Are there any special tools I'll need?

All help greatfully received!

Cheers,

Carl

Varies slightly depending on what calipers your car is running, but for a 318is running ATE calipers (for example), you only need to remove the sliding pins (7mm allen head) and undo the brake pipes. Not sure if you need to check or change anything else though if changing from solid to vented discs?

Well I need to replace the ones on there, because they dont fit over my new discs

I haven't actually sourced any replacement callipers yet, I was just wondering how easy this procedure is, and if there is a write up on doing it anywhere...

BTW, my car was a 316i, and is now a 325i, which is why I'd like to increase my stopping power... I have already warped my crappy little solid discs!
