Ventilation Fan on/off and speed control - 325 1990 H Reg

The ventialtion fan on my 325 e.30 series H reg (with a/c) only works on max speed ( 4) .

Local BMW dealer have said new resistor needed and sold me one for circa Ԛ£20. They told me the location of the fitting was fairly obvious once I removed glove box.

Problem : I have removed glove box and cannot see anythimg like the bright blue fitting with exposed resistor coils that they have sold me.

Can anyone help as to where this may be located and best method to replace - ort whehter I have been sold the wrong part.

On an H reg you should be able to see it once you've removed the top and side panels over the glovebox and exposed the left hand side of the heater assembly. Several wires going to it should help you find it.
IIRC, most of the ones I've seen have been brown, rather than blue.

Many thanks for this. I have seen the fitting you are describing but it is so different from what has been provided by BMW that I did not think it was the piece I was looking for.

BMW must have provided the wrong part. I wil go back to them.
